Drug Uses
Erythromycin is used for curing of infections caused by certain bacteria. It is also used to prevent bacterial endocarditis and attacks of rheumatic fever. It can also be used for other situations as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Erythromycin as directed by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Erythromycin with food intake. Swallow Erythromycin whole. Don't break, crush, or chew before swallowing. Don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you use Erythromycin. This medicine works best if taken at the same times each day. To clear up your infection absolutely, take Erythromycin for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
Additional Information
If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, call your physician. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than determined by your doctor.
