Participate in pedagogical workshops and lectures at Yugntruf’s Yiddish Vokh at the Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp in Copake, NY, at the Yiddish Teachers Seminar, August 16 – 22, 2016. The seminar is under the direction of Dr. Sheva Zucker.

Scholarships will be awarded to 8 – 10 Yiddish teachers working at universities, Jewish schools, Yiddish clubs, and in adult education classes — covering most costs for the entire week, including room and board, food, all texts, and materials. (Those who who participated in the seminar in 2011 and 2013 may not apply for a scholarship this year, but may reapply to participate without a scholarship.) No travel subsidies available.

  • Learn about pedagogical methods and materials
  • Immerse yourself in a friendly environment where you can discuss ideas, plans, and problems in Yiddish teaching.
  • Enjoy a week at the beautiful Pearlstone Retreat Center and experience a wide variety of Yiddish activities and performances.
